Customer Service Improvement Message
I booked at this location because of a storage unit shortage in Kitsap County. It is a 35min drive from my home, so it wouldn't have been my first choice. The price was ideal with the 50% off the first 3 months, which is hard to pass up! :) The unit had not been swept out, but nothing I was too worried about so I rated it average of 3 stars. The Customer Service was average rating as well, because the contact over there, Dani, was less than friendly both over the phone and in person. I understand and have noticed that due to the conditions of the world as we know it, customer service has gone down hill at many local businesses. I'm sure it is related to stress and employee shortage, but I would appreciate a smile and kinder tone. I reserved this unit on Saturday 1/8/22, in order to unload our items that day. After speaking to Dani over the phone to confirm hours of operation being until 6PM and arranging access to my unit, I made my way over to the location. I arrived at 5:30PM that evening to find that unfortunately, the office was closed and I had wasted over an hour of travel/gas. This was disappointing as I was on a tight schedule, with much more to accomplish with our move. Being that the hours on Sunday were opening at 11am, this really prolonged a day of moving and unloading. Upon arrival Sunday to arrange access, I was informed that the office closed early 1/8/22 due to an emergency. What I would've appreciated was a courtesy call to let me know prior to making the trip down. I would've completed the check-in process online, but was informed that the online check-in processor was down. This will not hinder my recommendation of this facility, as it is well secured and an overall great location. I would just ask that the customer service give a little more effort to new/current customers, as they themselves are often in "emergency" situations that include deadlines of having access to storage to meet their own needs at the time.
