Security looks to be top notch, but there is one concern...
Security was my mother's main concern when choosing a new unit, so I was glad to see some of the precautions taken with the cameras and gate system. No issues there, as long as they keep good employees, which amongst the three I met seemed great. My concern is more with the design of the facility.
The unit assigned to me was an interior unit, which was what we were looking for also. The unit was at the farthest interior location possible from what I saw. There were situations where there were multiple doors to access a location, which was the case for the interior where our unit was. Had the unit been between the two doors, that would've been fine. In our case the unit was at the end of an adjacent hallway about as long as the distance between the two doors previously mentioned. It seems the route to go in this case would've been to create another door, but therein lies the issue. We were at a point that we saw no other option, after 24 hours of driving, and seeing no closer units that might work. Ultimately, just a bad design. Were it a smaller unit that was needed, it might not be a problem for some, but seeing as we were looking for a 10x10, we were moving in a lot of heavy items. I will give it the fact that the ceiling was high (12-15') was a huge plus in their favor.
Second concern was very minor. If you have a lot of stuff, especially heavy stuff, bring your own dollies. The dollies they have on hand either are damaged or intended for very light weight items. The two we borrowed had at least one broken or poorly functioning wheel. It's nice that have them, but it was very much like pulling a rug with items on it.
Adding it up, so far the experience is at right about 4.5/5. I can't bring myself to drop it any lower yet.
